Skinny Shaming Is A Real Thing

Let's get real today, many people seem to think that skinny shaming is acceptable. Suggesting certain women really need to get a pizza or a burger and eat the whole thing it is an unacceptable joke. People only hear about fat shaming but skinny shaming is a real problem too.

Body shaming
NounThe action or practice of humiliating someone by making mocking or critical comments about their body shape or size.

Don't get me wrong, I have had positive comments like I can pull of anything because I am skinny, that I could be a model and I have had girls tell me that they would kill to have my body however I have been asked how sad it is not having a big ass, I have been told that the wind will blow me away and that men do not want bones, they want curves (especially from the African community). Bones, too skinny, toothpick are just a few of the names I've been called over the years. Instead of being greeted with a typical "Hey, how are you" you often hear "you are…

Hey lovelies
I hope you are all doing fine. Today's post is a little bit different, Im not here to talk about fashion but to share a little about life. Today while reading "Responding to Life" (you guys should definitely check this blog out and you'll thank me later) I got inspired to share something that will maybe help some of you.
We all experience life challenges, how we handle these struggles determines our well being. Those challenges pressure us from every side threatening to crush or break us but I like to believe that all challenges have a purpose in our life, I know we all sometimes wish to have an assurance, to know the reason for these challenges and that why we have a tendency questioning our reason for hope, like for example asking questions like "why me God?" "How do I stop the pain" etc. No matter what you are going through, it is possible to move on, to move beyond that place of hopelessness.

As we all know, life is not always easy but with God nothing is impossible. When we develop a personal relationship with the one who made us, the king of battles, we discover how he wants us to respond when we find ourselves in any kind of situation. If you are having troubles or facing any difficult situation, the only thing you have to do is to turn to him and trust him with all you heart but you have to trust yourself too, you have made it through everything life has thrown at you, you asked yourself if you would make it but honey you did, you made it and even stronger than ever.
The only thing I can tell you is to always involve God in your life, in everything you do. God is our refuge, our strength, our healer, our provider, our comforter, etc. And he's always there for us, he's a faithful God and he loves us unconditionally. Isaiah 43:2 "When you have troubles, I am with you"
God promises his children relief from the troubles and for me, he's my only place of safety, my fortress and because of him, because of what I know he's capable of, I live positively, I live a life full of hope.

Psalms 23:1-4 "The Lord is my shepherd. I will always have everything I need. He gives me green pastures to lie in. He leads me by calm pools of water. He restores my strength. He leads me on rights paths to show that he is good. Even if I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid you are with me"
