Skinny Shaming Is A Real Thing

Image
Let's get real today, many people seem to think that skinny shaming is acceptable. Suggesting certain women really need to get a pizza or a burger and eat the whole thing it is an unacceptable joke. People only hear about fat shaming but skinny shaming is a real problem too.

Body shaming
NounThe action or practice of humiliating someone by making mocking or critical comments about their body shape or size.

Don't get me wrong, I have had positive comments like I can pull of anything because I am skinny, that I could be a model and I have had girls tell me that they would kill to have my body however I have been asked how sad it is not having a big ass, I have been told that the wind will blow me away and that men do not want bones, they want curves (especially from the African community). Bones, too skinny, toothpick are just a few of the names I've been called over the years. Instead of being greeted with a typical "Hey, how are you" you often hear "you are…

The Christmas Tag - Merry Christmas

Christmas is a few days away so I thought why not do a Christmas tag and wish my ASC gang a very Merry Christmas. This is going to be the last post of the year and it is to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I also want to thank you all for the happiness and joy you have brought me this year, I feel incredibly blessed to have so many wonderful, happy and bright people reading my blog and watching my videos.
I have included the questions at the end of this post so you can easily copy and past if you want to do the tag.

1.     What is your favorite Christmas Movie/s?
I think my ultimate Christmas movie to watch has to be Home Alone. I've watched Home Alone so many times and I am still going to watch it. If you are Christmas obsessed like myself then I feel it's more about watching lots of Christmas movies over the festive period, which unfortunately is not going to be the case this year, since I have to prepare my exams.

2.     Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I live in Denmark and here we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve.

3.     Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
My favorite Christmas memory is the whole Christmas planning and celebration when I was a child. I used to be more excited about it and it was so much more fun back then.

4. Favorite festive food?
Aside from chocolate…it’s Christmas dinner, I mean everything we cook that day.

5. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
It was last year, my dad paid for my flight ticket going home (Goma, Congo) for Christmas holiday. When I travel home it is usually in summer but last year I really wanted to celebrate Christmas with my family, and it's always a double celebration for us because my mom was born on the 25th of December. So being there for Christmas holiday was the best gift ever.

6. Favorite Christmas scent?

7. What tops your tree?
For years and years it was an angel but for these days it’s either a star or nothing.

8. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Nothing really. I always asked for a Barbie and that is what I always got. I had a collection of them.

9. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with my loved ones, friends and family and generally having a lovely time.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I’ll let you guess on this one…of course I like receiving gifts better. It’s all about the excitement of receiving something new. I don't like the stress I go through when buying gifts, sorry.

I really hope you all are going to have an amazing Christmas, eat lot of chocolate (I know I will * wink *) cuddle up and watch as many festive movies as possible and most importantly, relax and have a happy holiday with whoever you are spending it with. My Christmas holiday is not going to be all fun and games as I wished it to be because I have exams coming up right after the holiday, so now you all know what your girl will be up to for the next few weeks.
Feel free to answer the questions in the comment section if you don't have a blog, because I'd love to read your answers. I’ll speak to you again in the New Year.
